📝Prayer for deportation📝
on the consequences of public prayer services in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug

Stories about demonstrative prayers by migrants continue to regularly surface in the news, but increasingly they are followed by a quite logical response.

In the Nizhnevartovsk District of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, a court fined a migrant and ordered his deportation from Russia. The reason was ostentatious prayers in a dormitory in the presence of other residents, posting prayer schedules and texts in Arabic.

🖍Under the guise of "personal religiosity" behavioral norms are being imposed on others, and if such self-styled preachers find allies, this leads to the formation of illegal prayer houses, which already risks spreading extremist ideas.

🚩And here again the issue is not about faith, but about demonstrativeness and violation of secular society's rules. When religious rites turn into a public action — this is no longer a private matter, but a direct provocation. And, as practice shows, such high-profile acts can quite often go hand in hand with terrorism.

❗️Moreover, in the very countries from which migrants come, such behavior is strictly suppressed. But excessive leniency in Russia has repeatedly led to the formation of tension hotspots — in the same Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug this was clearly demonstrated and now they are correcting mistakes.

The more widespread the practice of punishing such antics becomes, the fewer such "experiments" with public order there will be, especially since current law enforcement practice fully allows applying deportation to violators on a permanent basis.
