Israel Initiates Ceasefire Negotiations with Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has directed the government to begin direct ceasefire negotiations with Hezbollah, set to start in a few days. These talks will occur while military actions continue, focusing on Hezbollah's disarmament. Lebanon aims to negotiate on its own terms, rejecting the Iran-brokered ceasefire, driven by animosity towards Iran.

—❗️🇮🇱/🇱🇧 NEW: Netanyahu has instructed the Israeli government to engage in direct negotiations for a ceasefire

The negotiations will start in a few days and take place ‘under fire’ (i.e. Israel continues to act militarily during it), and will seek to address the disarmament of Hezbollah.

Instead of Lebanin putting its weight behind Israel adhering to the Iran-brokered ceasefire, it wants to negotiate on ‘its own terms’, simply out of spite for Iran.
