IDF Offensive on Bint Jbeil

Article lead image

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are surrounding Bint Jbeil, Lebanon, planning an offensive to occupy the city. The strategy involves capturing the town of Ein Ebel and advancing through At-Tiri to cut off access roads. Heavy air support is expected during the infantry-armored push. The area has a significant Hezbollah presence, posing challenges for the IDF. This operation is notable as Israel previously faced defeat in Bint Jbeil during the 2006 conflict. โ€”โ—๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ/๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง/๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท MAP: The IDF aims to cut off the access roads to Bint Jbeil by capturing the predominantly Christian town of Ein Ebel without resistance, and then pushing through the town of At-Tiri to cut off the Northern access road

An combined infantry-armored push with heavy air support will then start on Bint Jbeil from the directions of Aitaroun and Maroun Al-Ras.

The hills surrounding the northern boundaries of At-Tiri have an especially heavy Hezbollah presence, and would likely be challenging to capture.

NOTE: Israel lost to Hezbollah in 2006 while trying to capture this same city (Bint Jbeil).
